The Madonna Inn

A great getaway in the middle of nowhere. 

A friend of mine asked if The Madonna Inn was associated with the “Mother Mary and child” Madonna or the singer/artist Madonna. I really didn’t know how to respond but it made me smile.

Turns out, it has nothing to do with either of them. A Mr. and Mrs. Madonna actually built and decorated this hotel in the 1950s and it has remained open every day of the year since its opening. Each room is decorated with a different theme and we stayed in the “Sweepstakes” room. 

Our room had an old western/ cowboy theme (which incidentally is actually the theme we will be using in baby Dyer’s room.) 

The property surrounding the hotel had horses and a secret garden.  

Also, one of my favorite things about this hotel: the spa.

And the spa has the option of a prenatal massage!

WHAAAAAA?!!!! Who’s a happy girl?!

I think this might be one of my new favorite places, and I can’t wait to go back! 

Now, moving up the coast, our next stop is a little campground in Big Sur 💙
