Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. -Proverbs 11:25
I love how simple and yet compelling this verse is.
How easy is it to complain, or have a heart that is eager to share everything that is wrong?
Sometimes, the things that are falling apart are at the forefront of our minds and are the first things to be shared. Sometimes, that is just real life.
But if we are being honest here, most of us have some aspect of our lives that is falling apart.
This week I was in the grocery store and Ford sneezed. Normally, this wouldn’t be that monumental, but he is battling a gnarly cold right now with a TON of mucus.
Lets just say, both nostrils spilled forth all down his face.
Was I prepared? No. Was there a wipe or napkin anywhere in sight? No.
You know what I did find? A single female pad that I had lodged in my purse for emergencies.
This pad was shaped like a thong.
Yes.
I wiped my kid’s nose with it and shoved it back in my purse.
I didn’t even tell my husband about this until DAYS later because I just couldn’t bring myself to tell someone out loud what has become normal to me ha! When I did tell him, he started laughing so hard that it made me laugh to the point of nearly crying.
This parenthood thing is just complicated sometimes, but it is also the greatest gift I have ever been given and I want to make a conscious effort to not only be real with other people about the struggles, but to be real about the blessings too.
I want the words that come out of my mouth (and the words that are typed) to be a breathe of fresh air, lifting other people up, letting them know that we are all in this together (and we don’t have to be perfect.)
This is life at its finest!!Laughed sooo hard ❤️
