I love looking at motherhood this way because in this light, I can’t fail as a mother and I can’t fail as a human. If I am enjoying God and everything He has created, all that he has done to save and restore humanity, if I am busy praising my Savior, there is no room for anything less.
Do I get distracted, yes.
Do I constantly have to redirect my thoughts to things above instead of things in front or behind me? Yes.
But you know, His mercies are new every morning, and somewhere in the world, it is always morning… so I suppose there are mercies enough to go around.
Constant mercies abound.
So, I will cut myself some slack and enjoy this day that the Lord has made.
