Monday Mom Meditation: 2

“Give yourself the permission to do the best you can and the grace to be peaceful on the days when you miss the mark.” -Rachel Hollis

Do you ever feel like, despite your best efforts, your kids don’t follow the plan?

I’m laughing out loud as I write this.

It’s like the more effort you put in to making everything “just right,” the more effort they put in to making sure you know that you can’t control everything.

I guess it’s a great reality check and a reminder to me that as much as I tell other mamas to extend grace to themselves, I too need to extend grace to myself in the moments where I am thinking out loud, “How is the world did today go so differently than I planned??”

The great thing to remember is that even when I don’t have enough grace for myself (or anyone else for that matter), I can rely on the one that has enough grace for everyone, in every situation, and that He is using my weaknesses to draw me to Him.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” -2 Corinthians 12:9
